John Cosmo Ciampa, 78 of Valrico, Florida, passed away in Brandon Hospital on June 9, 2025 at HCA Brandon Florida Hospital He is survived by his loving wife Angeline; his loving sons, John and Paul, his loving daughter Michele and his adoring grandchildren, Skylar, Shayne and P.J. He is also survived by his younger sister, Donna Ciampa Lauria.

John was born on September 21, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY to John and Irene Ciampa. He spent his childhood and teenage years in Brooklyn with his parents and siblings. He graduated from East New York Technical High School and began working various jobs. Soon after he met the love of his life, Angie, who he married in 1970. John had a fulfilling career as a plate maker at Paragon Printing in Manhattan, where he created plates as a member of the Amalgamated Lithographers Union Local 1.

His hobbies included playing and collecting vinyl records. He particularly enjoyed oldies and had a special fondness for music from The Beatles and Christmas songs by Bing Crosby. When going on camping trips, he would play the same cassette tape over and over much to the amusement of his family.

John loved hunting and fishing, especially spearfishing in Reynolds Far Rockaway and Montauk. He loved bow hunting and enjoyed target shooting in the backyard, as well as hunting with his rifle and shotgun in Mohawk Mountain and Upstate New York. His passion for nature and wildlife conservation was evident in the lessons he imparted to his family. He also enjoyed camping, swimming, snorkeling, and other outdoor activities.

One of his favorite pastimes was hunting with his beagles for rabbits, While John had working dogs that didn't typically sit on his lap, Max was different; he became a beloved companion. John often made a delicious rabbit stew which was a family favorite.

John was a warm and kind hearted soul. He was a good listener, a devoted hunting buddy, and a good friend, always ending his conversations with "I love you." He taught his family values and led by example, teaching them archery and gun safety, ensuring they could provide for themselves when needed. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors, family, and the community. He loved his family deeply and will be dearly missed.
