John Colagrande Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by James A. Dyal Funeral Home on Feb. 18, 2026.
John Colagrande, Jr., 57, of West Orange, New Jersey, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Born on June 18, 1968, in Montclair, he was the beloved son of Sandra Renner Colagrande and John Colagrande, Sr.

John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He earned his Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, a milestone that reflected his strong work ethic and determination. Throughout his career, he applied his knowledge and skills with integrity and pride.

John married the love of his life, Eileen Colagrande, and together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and unwavering support for one another. He was the proud and loving father of three daughters: Elizabeth Hunt (Ben), Emily Flagg (Jon), and Megan Williams (Luke). Nothing brought him greater joy than his family, especially his cherished grandson, Theodore John, who was the light of his life.

He is also survived by his sister, Christina Zimmerman (Richard), and his two nephews, Joseph and Jake Zimmerman, along with a host of loving relatives and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.

John had a deep love for NASCAR and could often be found cheering on his favorite drivers on race day. He was an avid bowling enthusiast and shared a lifelong passion for trains, a hobby that brought him both excitement and peace. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he loved sharing his interests with family and friends.

Above all, John will be remembered for his kind heart, steady presence, and the deep love he had for those around him. His legacy lives on in the family he adored and the countless lives he touched.

The family will celebrate his life on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church 11001 Dorchester Road, Summerville, SC 29485

Though he will be deeply missed, his love and spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, and Turner Syndrome Foundation.
