John Collins

John Zary Collins, 80, of Columbus, GA, passed away peacefully at his residence on November 7th, 2025, surrounded by his family.

A visitation welcoming friends and family will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday, November 9th, 2025, at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd Columbus, GA 31907.

Mr. Collins was born on January 30, 1945, in Thomaston, GA. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who proudly served six years in the Navy before serving as a Lieutenant for the Columbus Fire Department for 30 years, 9 months, and 15 days, until retiring in October 1999. John is survived by his loving wife Brenda Collins of 41 years of Columbus GA, Brother George Collins of Thomaston, GA, daughter Brandi Stokes (Steven) of Columbus, GA, Son Clint Knox (Leslie) of Smiths Station, AL, grandchildren Katlin (Blake), Mckenzie, Luke, Mason, John Michael, and two great-grandchildren Oakley and Clayton. We will all miss his kindness, sarcasm, and love that he had for each of his family members and we will continue to cherish all the memories that we were able to share through the years.
