John R. Colucci "Pop", age 79, of Philadelphia, passed away on September 11, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
John was born and raised in Philadelphia by his parents, the late Francis and the late Rose (nee Venutti). He was a graduate of St. John Neumann High School, class of 1961. After graduation he enlisted in the US Air Force and was stationed in Alaska from 1961 – 1967. After his faithful service to his country, He married Jaqueline McGowan in 1968 and began a family. John retired from the Philadelphia Gas Works in 2000 after over 35 years of employment. He loved spending time with his family. Although he liked working on his 1974 VW Super Beetle, he also enjoyed trying out the newest technology. Those who knew him, were well aware of his sweet tooth for Jelly Krimpets.
Husband of the late Jacqueline (nee McGowan). Beloved father of Christopher (Jamie) Colucci, Diane (Brian) Colucci, Sarah (David) Kuczynski, Joe "Chunk" Colucci and John (Amy) Colucci. Devoted grandfather of Airyanna, Jacqueline, Nikolas, Caroline, and Cody. Dear brother of Maryann Marshall. He will be missed by his faithful feline companion, Spike.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at T.J. Fluehr Funeral Home, 11010 Knights Rd. Religious Service 12:00 Noon. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. To share a memory of John, please visit www.tjfluehr.com
Florists, all deliveries must arrive at the funeral home on Thursday before 4:00 PM.
