With great love and sadness, the family of John Rolfe Cook announces his passing on September 29, 2025, at the age of 60.

Born on November 4, 1964, John was the beloved son of Roland (Ron) and the late Marjorie (Wood) Hungerford. He grew up in Alma, Michigan, attending Alma High School and Republic Alternative High School.

John built a long and dedicated career with Penzoil, later Service Pro, where he worked since the late 1980s, aside from a brief time in landscaping. He was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and commitment to those around him.

On May 1, 2015, John married the love of his life, Deb, in Ithaca, Michigan. Together, they shared many years of love, laughter, and family.

Family was at the heart of John's life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He leaves behind his wife, Deb; children Rachel (Robert) Vidal, Garrett Cook, Samantha Young, Andrea Miller (Dean Jons), Todd (Crystal) Miller; and his cherished grandchildren Alex, Gabriel, Destiny, Emilio, Lucas, Elijah, Brenden, Izzac, Isaiah, Brook-Lynn, Cheyann, Novah, Angel, Daizy, Jazmin, Skyler, and Levi. He is also survived by his father, Roland (Ron); brothers Ronnie Cook and Dustin (Mariah) Cook. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie; step-dad Don Hungerford; step-mom Jayne Cook; sisters Donna Wood and Dawn Flores.

John had a passion for the outdoors and lived life with a sense of adventure and joy. He loved hunting, whether bow or rifle, pan fishing, and spending time behind the grill as the proud "grillmaster" at family gatherings. He enjoyed mudbogging, and taking care of his lawn, making sure the stripes were always perfectly neat.

John's sense of humor, hard work, and love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will come together to honor John's memory.
