GLENS FALLS
John J. Corti, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 5, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born February 1, 1948 in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Ralph and Ruth (Bussing) Corti.
John graduated from South Glens Falls High School, and then proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Green Beret in the 101st Airborne Division, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam.
John was employed by Security Supply as a driver for over 20 years. He also continued serving his community as a South Glens Falls police officer.
On June 9, 1990, John married Anna DeLong in a beautiful backyard ceremony officiated by Judge David Krogmann.
John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He camped for many years at the Queen Village Campground in Warrensburg where he made many friends.
In addition to his parents, John is predeceased by his sisters; Agnes Cutter, Rosemary Watkins, and Shirley Ball.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 32 years, Anna Corti, his stepson Richard Wolfe and his wife Rebecca, his sister-in-law Linda Sumner, his brothers-in-law; Raymond DeLong and his wife Patricia, Rickie DeLong and his wife Becky. Angelo DeLong and his wife Sharon, Gary DeLong and his wife Wendy, and Dennis Delong and his wife Mary, his very good friends David Nearh and his wife Pam, several nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved Yorkie Kujoe.
A procession to the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery will leave the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828 at 9 am on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. A Memorial Service with military honors will be performed at the cemetery at 10am.
