I met John through the Fort Dupont Ice Arena Board and over a period of years, enjoyed seeing his commitment to his beloved family, youth in Ward 7 and Washington, DC, Gonzaga, and the mission of Fort Dupont Ice Arena. John was a wonderful community leader and he will be missed because of his spirit, determination, his sincere desire to uplift people, and his dedication to youth development. I am sending sincere condolences to John's family and friends. Rest in peace, John. It was an honor to work with you.

John was a valued member of Fort Dupont Ice Arena board and instrumental in the local community's use of the facility. He was a constant fixture at the rink and his warm smile was a welcome to all. His input into the rink's relationships with the Ward 7 community were welcomed and pursued by the FFD board where John was an active member and leader. His smile, smarts and warmth will be forever missed. The rink and its many skaters are blessed by John's overall vision for this Ward 7 community ice rink. He led the Fort Dupont board through his delightful personality, smarts and warmth as a long time board member. He will be sorely missed by all.
