John Crabtree has gone to be with the Lord. John Crabtree, 56, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025 at the Heartford House. He was born February 5, 1969 in Owensboro. John attended Owensboro Catholic High School and worked many years as a bricklayer. He was a kind-hearted person and will be missed by many.
John was preceded in death by his father, Herman Crabtree; paternal grandparents, Herman and Christina Crabtree; maternal grandparents, Ray and Aggie Hayden; sister, Hope Crabtree; and a cousin, Matthew Logsdon.
John is survived by his beloved, Emily May and her children, Ava May and Carter Coleman; mother, Martha Crabtree; sister, Tina (Todd) Sowney; brother, Joseph Crabtree; aunts and uncles, Sissy Fenwick, Kitty (Phillip) Gray, and Frank Hayden; cousins, John Goggans II, Beth (Corey) Lash and Melanie (Evan) Houtchen; nieces and nephews, Brooklyn Crabtree, Aggie Davenport, Carter Davenport, Austin (Mary) Crabtree, Victor Sowney, Jessica Sowney, Frances Sowney, and Caitlin (Austin) Hendrey; great-nephew, Dawson Crabtree; and his best friends, David and Jennifer Dowell, who will remember him always.
Visitation to celebrate John's life, will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Owensboro followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Father Carl McCarty.
