John Crouch Obituary

John Crouch

June 2, 1983 - May 11, 2025

Fort Worth, Texas - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Warren Crouch, beloved son, brother, and friend, who left us on May 11, 2025, at the age of 41. John's life was a reflection of his love for music, his creative spirit, intellectual depth, and unwavering individuality.

A gifted musician, John had a rare talent that resonated with all who heard him play, especially on his treasured 12-string guitar. In many ways, music was the connective tissue of his most meaningful relationships and was a reflection of his soulauthentic, emotional, and layered.

While you'd repeatedly find John able to perfectly play a song he had just heard, he was just as likely to be building a computer from scratch. While he formally pursued degrees in audio engineering and physics, in many other topics John was self-taught through curiosity. He loved to read and to explore, usually happiest outdoors and unencumbered.

John's legacy will live on through the music he created and the lives he touched. John leaves behind his loving family, who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his mother, Lynda Crouch, his father, Charles Crouch, and his sister, Carolyn Phillips, as well as a large and loving extended family.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held to honor John's memory at Convergence Church (5745 James Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76134) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025. The commemoration of John's life will continue at Martin House Brewery at 220 S. Sylvania Ave #209, Ft. Worth from 2:30-5:30 p.m. following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local music, STEM or mental health support charity in honor of John, such as Texas Music Project (texasmusicproject.org, STEM Education for Kids (seeds2stem.net), and NAMI (nami.org).

Rest in peace, John. You will never be forgotten.
