John D. Crowell passed away peacefully at home on October 17, 2025, at the age og 80. He was born September 29, 1945, in his childhood home in Tulelake, California, to Frank and Mary (Strop) Crowell. He was a devoted husband for 52 years to Jeri Simmons Crowell.
John is survived by his daughter Teresa Crowell Williams and her husband David; grandson Tyler Williams and his wife Daisy; great-grandchildren Haiden (15) Tyler (14) Hailey (9) and Bentley (6); sisters, Maryann Beaty and her husband David, and Barbara Gassett and her husband Bill. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Crowell; daughter Angela Crowell; grandson Ryan Williams; brothers Harold, LeRoy, and Don, and sister Millie Girtman.
As a Veteran of the United States Army, John served his country with honors and integrity. He also enjoyed being a member of the American Legion Post 84, Malin, Oregon. After his military career he married Jeri Simmons and was married for 52 years. After the marriage, John obtained a Bachelor of Science degree, and thereafter built a lifelong career as an Agricultural Engineer. He was employed with Oxychem Simplot and Basin Fertilizer. He owned and operated Tri-County Ag Inc. for over 35 years.
John was a huge supporter for his community. He continuously volunteered in Tulelake, Merrill, Malin and Klamath, and surrounding areas in numerous ways:

John will be remembered most for his love for his family and friends. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren Tyler and Ryan Williams and great-grandchildren Haiden, Tyler Jr., Hailey and Brantley. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing, and most of all racing with Tyler and Ryan.
The family "Secret Santa" can now be revealed. John teamed up with the Tulelake Police Department and the Tulelake Fire Department for over 50 years, greeting children in Tulelake/Newell with bags of candy and listening to the childrens' wishes. He also arranged visits to the local hospital and would take children small gifts and candy when they were faced with hospital stays through the holidays. He also visited local nursing homes, greeting residents in his Santa suit. John would also provide "Christmas" to a local struggling family. Santa Claus was something our family participated in and enjoyed very much.
