John Joseph Curzi, a loving and generous soul, born on January 29, 1946, in
Butler, PA, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2023, in
Old Bridge, NJ. Known for his thoughtful nature, John was always there for others, lending a helping hand whenever the need arose, and his generosity knew no bounds.
After serving as a proud veteran of the United States Navy for 22 years, John developed an enduring love for the sea and spent many happy hours boating and fishing. His naval background instilled in him a sense of discipline and a strong work ethic that he carried throughout his life. John also had a love for trains and a soft spot for animals.
John is survived by his beloved wife of almost 30 years, Patricia (née Cichowski), who stood by his side through the highs and lows of life, sharing in his joys and comforting him in times of sorrow. Their bond was one of deep love and mutual respect, a testament to their enduring commitment to each other.
He is also survived by his son, Tom Curzi, his daughters, Theresa Rozyla and Denise Rozyla and nephew, Joseph, and his grandchildren, Lily and Rose, all who held a special place in his heart. His brothers, James Curzi and his wife, Sheryl and Paul Curzi and his wife, Maryann, and his sister, Mary Van Liew and her husband, Walter. He cherished the moments they shared and the memories they created together.
John is predeceased by his parents, Jedio and Mary (née Mitchell) Curzi and his sister, Patricia Nedo.
He was a man of many interests and passions, but above all, he was a man of great love and generosity. His thoughtfulness and willingness to help others defined his life and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. His memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched with his kindness.
In the end, we remember John not for what he did but for who he was - a loving husband, a caring father and grandfather, a trusted friend, and a kind soul who made the world a little brighter with his presence. His legacy of love, generosity, and thoughtfulness will continue to inspire all who knew him. Rest in peace, John Curzi, you will be sorely missed but fondly remembered.
