John William Dalgleish,70 of Marquette, passed away peacefully at home, Friday October 3, 2025 in the comforting care of his family and Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice.
He was born November 29, 1954, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, a son of William G. And Mary G. (Schleich) Dalgleish. He was raised there and was a 1972 graduate of Sault Ste. Marie High School.
John was employed at CCI working various positions through the years retiring in 2013 as a control room operator with 40 years of service to the company.
He enjoyed trips to the casino, fishing, and making things in his garage recycled from other things that no longer worked as he always found a use for everything. He was proud of his daughters and their accomplishments.
John is survived by his wife, Ada (Ailing) Dalgleish, whom he married on September 28, 1990; children, Kristin (Rick Sheltrow) Olsen of Crystal Falls, MI, Traci (Tim) Kangas of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Todd, Jennifer, Nicholas and Timothy; siblings, Leatha Dalgleish of Sault Ste. Marie, Ron (Julie) Dalgleish of Garland, TX, Louise (Gary) Homminga and Pauline (Chris) Homminga both of Sault Ste. Marie; as well as several nieces, nephews and their families; and his grand fur babies. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald.
John's family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the compassionate care shown by Dr. Brian Odom (who John thought the world of), Nicole Nolan PAC and Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice, especially nurses Christy, Alysa and Mike.
Honoring John's wishes, no services will be held.
