John H. Daniels, Jr. departed this life on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at the age of 48 in his home. Jon John, as he was fondly called, was born on December 21, 1974 in Kansas City, Missouri to John H. Daniels, Sr. and Jo Ann Daniels. He was preceded in death by his father John H. Daniels, Sr.; grandparents Johnnie Lee and Queenester Daniels, grandparents, Jonthan, and Bessie Poole; and sister-in -love, Charlotte Wilridge.
Jon John was baptized at the age of 9 at St. Stephen Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. MacCharles Jones. He later united with St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church until he left Kansas City to attend college in Lake Charles, La.
Jon John met the love of his life Clarissa Wilridge, where they married in Lake Charles on April 14, 1999. To this union they had three beautiful children while married for 23 years.
Before passing Jon John was employed as a Manager for EVO Transportation US Post Office. He recently started stand-up comedy with the stage name better known as JD Link/Kansas City. John established "706 Day", the mayor of Lake Charles declared "706 Day".
Jon John enjoyed his family and friends... always the life of the party. He was an avid KC Chiefs fan. He also enjoyed reading, traveling, dancing, and riding his bicycle.
Jon John attended F.L. Schlagle High School, graduating in 1993 from Kansas City, Kansas. He served in the US Navy as an Operations Specialist after attending two years of college. He later returned to McNeese State University and graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Jon John leaves to cherish his memory: His mother, Jo Ann Daniels of Kansas City, Kansas, love of his life, Clarissa Daniels, daughters, Destinee and Aaliyah and son John H. Daniels, III (Trey), all of Lake Charles, La. Two grandsons Nasir (Nasi Bear) and Elijah (Champ) also of Lake Charles; brother Jack A. Daniels (Marshawn) of Roswell, Ga.; Sister, Dr. Jovaun A. Daniels, of Fort Worth, Texas. God mother Linda Robins, Kansa City, Kansas, special cousin/sister, Dr. LeShanda Williams (Shelly), of Spotsylvania, Va. Two special uncles, Larry Daniels, of Kansas City, Mo and Jessie Bess of Kansas City, Kansas; father in- love and mother-in-love Percy and Jeny Wilridge, of Lake Charles; sister in-love Cassandra Wilridge of Lake Charles, nieces, Caige, Caiya and Calleigh all of Roswell, Ga. Nephews, Marcus, Malveaux, Jacoby Wilridge and Charles Wilridge, all of Lake Charles; a host of Uncles, Aunts, cousins, great nephews and nieces and friends.
Jon John's final resting place will be in his home state at Leavenworth National Cemetery with his Dad and PaPa Poole.
