John Allen Dankson, age 81, of Northport, AL, passed away July 27, 2024 at his residence. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Magnolia Chapel North with Pastor Mike Dankson, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Alabama National Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel North directing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Vivian Hoke Dankson; sister, Carol Kiner; brothers, Thomas and William Dankson, and Adam Lee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Elaine Rhinehart Dankson; sister, Kaye Sarandrea (Larry) of Ormond Beach, FL; brother, Craig Dankson of Klamath Falls, OR; sons, Mike Dankson (Debbie) of Sylacauga, AL, Chris Dankson of Northport, AL; Ron Estes (Lesley) of Buhl, AL, John Douglas Buchanan of San Diego, CA; daughter, Sherrie Stephens (KD) of Tuscaloosa, AL; 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two on the way.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Kevin Katona, Dr. Joseph Wallace; VA Tuscaloosa Home Based Care, and DCH Home Health Care. The family would like to thank ACG Hospice for all their loving care.
John loved God, family, and his country.
The family has requested that no flowers be given.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ACG Hospice of Tuscaloosa, AL or your favorite charity.
