John Robert Davies of
Norfolk, MA died on December 11, 2025 surrounded by his beloved family and listening to his favorite rock and roll music after complications from a brief illness.
John "Jman" Davies was born on December 4, 1949 in Cheltenham, England, and grew up in Brookmans Park. A proud, dignified Englishman, he attended City University of London and earned a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for Smiths Industries in England and immigrated to America, settling in
Wakefield, MA on Memorial Day Weekend in 1979. In 1982, he met the love of his life, his wife of 40 years, Terry Davies, nee Migre. They were married on June 8, 1985 in Hanover, MA in what has often been referred to as the party of the century by those who remember it. He proudly earned his citizenship to the United States in 1991, never missing the opportunity to vote and constantly reminding family how important and special it is to have the right to do so.
An accomplished mechanical engineer with a passion for sales, John could sell sand in the desert. He left for work each day in a suit and returned in a suit. His family isn't sure what happened in between, but he was awarded Salesman of the Year multiple times. Along the way, he made many lifelong friends and connections through his work. He retired from Winchester Interconnect in January of 2020. He loved retirement, cruising to every brewery in the area in his MGB, cheering on New England Sports teams, especially the Red Sox and Patriots. He loved his home, his yard, and pool.
John's true passion was music and his band, The John Davies Experience. A rock star through and through, rehearsing and playing together at the annual Davies Summer Party was a highlight of his year. John attended many, many concerts, and loved supporting artists from buskers to big-name acts. Some of his favorite bands included Little Feat, The Police, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles & Tom Petty. John was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, trading stories and jokes with good music playing, and a cold Double Dry Hopped IPA in hand. There was nothing that he loved more than spending summer days and nights in the yard around the pool with his family.
In addition to his wife Terry, John is survived by his two children, Elizabeth of Easton, Michael and his wife Kelly of Milford, and his cherished granddaughter, Rosie; his in-laws Mary of Quincy, Jeffrey and his wife Mel of Hanover, Sam and his wife Dawne of Halifax, and beloved family friend, Sheila of Quincy; his nephews Daryl of Bristol, UK, Max of Mansfield, Carter of Mansfield, Will of Coventry RI, and Cody of Westford; his nieces Karrie of Tacoma, WA, Tori of Hanover, Hailey of Hanover, and Cate of Providence, RI. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Joyce, his sister Ann and her husband Richard, and his sister-in-law Gael.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street
Medfield, MA 02052 on Thursday, December 18 from 1pm to 4pm, followed by a memorial service beginning at 4pm. Reception to follow at one of John's favorite breweries, 7th Wave Brewing at 120 N Meadows Rd,
