John A. Dean, 89 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025 in The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care surrounded by his family. He was born in Vigo County on July 11, 1936 to Frederick Arthur Dean and Goldie Eva Yates Dean.
John was a retired truck driver and loved to fish.
John is survived by his children; Carolyn Cottom (James), James Dean (Marian), Jerry Dean (Diane), Connie Hayes, Charlotte Myers (Jeff), and Lisa Dean, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Johnnie Dean.
Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Marvin Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Nyes Chapel Cemetery near Farmersburg, IN. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
