John M. DeCamillo
March 2, 1948 – May 14, 2025
John M. DeCamillo passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born in Hackensack, NJ and was raised and attended school in Lyndhurst and North Arlington, NJ. John attended Fairleigh Dickinson University before serving in the United States Army in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. John was a Purple Heart recipient. Following the service, John moved to Denver, Colorado where he worked as a letter carrier for the USPS. He transferred to Pennsylvania and then NJ before retiring to the Myrtle Beach, SC area in 2010 after 40 years of service. He was a lifelong Jets fan and Giants fan. He loved traveling, gardening, playing golf and walking his dog.
Preceded in death by his parents, Anne and John DeCamillo, John is survived by his loving wife of 48years Robin L. DeCamillo; his sister, Virginia A. Altieri and her husband Angel of Las Vegas, a brother-in-law, Dan Heimbigner and his wife Dori of Bozeman, Mt., a sister-in-law, Ronda Heimbigner of Rudyard, Mt. as well as one uncle, one niece, three nephews and several cousins.
The mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on May 22, 2025, at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 542 Cypress Avenue, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
Interment will follow at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, 1 Memorial Avenue, Ft. Meyer, VA 22211.
