Obituary of John E. DeFrancis
John DeFrancis, 63, of Gloversville, New York, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024 at Mountain Valley Hospice. John was born on February 6, 1961 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Robert and Lorraine (Durnan) DeFrancis.
John worked for several factories in the Gloversville and Johnstown area throughout his life, and had most recently worked with Pioneer Windows in Johnstown. He will be remembered for his caring, yet stubborn disposition; his love for his family and friends; as well as the time he enjoyed spending outdoors, listening to music, and watching the New York Giants play.
His loving family includes his children, Heather, Christopher, Dylan, Melissa, and John Jr.; his siblings, Laura Josepides, Kathy DeFrancis, Bobby (Tammy) DeFrancis, Rachel Alderman, and Jean Weber; his two grandchildren; his God Mother, Lois Maruska; his special cousin Jimmy Heidenthal; his dear friends Roger and Michele Dillenbeck; as well as many other dear friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
John is preceded in passing by his parents, Robert and Lorraine; his son, John DeFrancis; and his siblings, William DeFrancis, Patricia Waxmundsky, Thomas DeFrancis, and Maureen Nalepka.
In keeping with John's wishes, there will be no formal funeral services held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, New York.
