John Kenneth DeGolier, 66, of Wendell, NC, died on Friday, January 16, 2026.

John was born on August 14, 1959, in Bradford, PA, a son of the late Robert DeGolier (father) and Jeanette Hand DeGolier McCool. John was a fireman for the Town of Wendell for many years and a ranger for the State of Pennsylvania Forestry Service and for Weralitz Inc prior to relocating to North Carolina.

He is preceded in death by father, Robert DeGolier of Bradford, PA, stepfather, Ed McCool of Bradford, PA, father-in-law, Allen Thigpen Sr, of Pink Hill, NC, sister-in-law Paula Miller of Potters Hill, NC, brother Jeffrey Van Curen of Bradford, PA and nephew Beau Baker of Jacksonville, NC.

He is survived by Jean, his loving wife of 36 years and their special pets. He is also survived by mother Jean McCool of Bradford, PA, sister Debra Taggart and spouse Ken, of Rixford, PA, mother-in-law Lou Thigpen of Zebulon, NC, sister-in-law Pam Muller and spouse Craig of Pink Hill, NC, brother-in-law Tony Miller of Potters Hill, NC, brother-in-law Dan Miller and spouse Melissa of Pink Hill, NC, brother-in-law Allen Thigpen Jr, and spouse Gail of Pink Hill, NC, his nieces Heather Monti and spouse Pat of Gifford, PA, Ashey and Brittany Harrell of Jacksonville, NC, Allison Miller of Durham, NC, Angela Waltz and spouse Edward of Maysville, NC, his nephews Billy Taggart and spouse Kheity of Centennial, CO, Andrew Thigpen and spouse Riley of Richlands, NC, David Miller of Potters Hill, NC, Conner Thigpen and spouse Sarita of Leland, NC, Chis Muller and spouse Amanda of Jacksonville, NC, and many cousins and great nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the home he shared with his loving wife.
