John P. DiNiro, 44, known affectionately as Guido, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, in Syracuse. He grew up in the CNS area and was a graduate of Cicero North Syracuse High School, class of 1997, before attending Onondaga Community College.
He worked as a shift supervisor at the Rock Auto division of United Auto in Syracuse. Beyond his work, Guido was an avid boater and fisherman. He was a fan of muscle cars and cherished his1995 Z28 convertible. John also enjoyed golfing and playing pool with his friends.
John was predeceased by his father, John R. DiNiro, his maternal grandparents, George and Constance McClellan, and his paternal grandparents, Jack and Anna DiNiro.
He will be dearly missed by his life partner, Antoinette "Toni" Sperato, with whom he resided and her children, Kai, Jakob, and Temperance; his two daughters, Gianna Rose DiNiro and Arabella May DiNiro and her mother, Stephanie DiNiro; his mother, Susan (George) Huttman of Wilkesboro, NC; a brother, Nathan DiNiro of Portland OR, and his children: Olive and Ronin DiNiro; a sister, Chelsea (Ryan) Lukosavich of Naples, Fl and their son, Charlie Lukosavich. In addition to his immediate family, John also leaves behind a stepmother, Kathy DiNiro of Naples, FL; and a niece, Madyson and nephew, Bryson.
Guido's vast network of friends meant the world to him. Among those who will miss him are Chris "MONGO" Brown, Jon Zinsmeyer, John French IV, and Chinasa Okafor. Guido's passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
