Sunbury - John Crause Ditty was born on September 17, 1944 in Belleville, IL. He was the second of five sons born to the late John Henry and Vera Mitten Ditty. John passed into our Lord Jesus' arms on September 27, 2025 at his home with family beside him.

John graduated from Sunbury High School in 1962 and was a veteran of the US Navy. He worked many years in the steel mills of Norfolk, VA before returning to PA and working at the Selinsgrove Center from where he retired.

John was a faithful member of Faith United Methodist Church in Sunbury where he served many years as a Lay Minister. He also was very active as a Team Leader for A Walk to Emmaus and Kairos Prison Ministry before ill health prevented continued participation in the organizations.

John is survived by his daughter Lisa (Brian) Gebhardt in Northampton, PA. He is also survived by his granddaughter Kimberly and two great-granddaughters as well. Other survivors include brothers Wayne Ditty (Susan) and Kevin Ditty (Kimberly) in Sunbury, PA. John has one sister, Barbara Erdman (Timothy) in Lancaster, PA and a sister-in-law Theresa Ditty of Lake Ariel, Pa. John is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a special cousin Sylvia Knauer in Selinsgrove, PA.

John was predeceased by his brothers Larry Ditty, (Theresa), Keith and sister-in-law Sandy Ditty, and nephew Jeffrey Ditty. We feel there is a big reunion with mom and dad and others in Heaven now.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State Street, Sunbury.
