Lovely tribute and honor to a legend, rest in peace, Uncle John!

Johnny was a genuine 'salt of the earth' soul. My mom was blessed to spend time with him & family when she came from Ireland. She recalled fondly a trip from the Bronx to NYC to treat him to a meal. She lost the purse somewhere between the Bronx & Manhattan, and they ended up with no money, no food, and Johnny trying to figure out how to sneak them onto the subway to get home. He could make you laugh and exuded a gentle spirit like his beloved mom, "Mrs. D.' Lonnie, my sincere condolences to you, the kids, the grandkids, and all his loved ones. The beautiful card/message he sent to my mom during her illness last yr. was indicative of the special person he was & who you are. Thank you. May your memories of him and the love of family surround and strengthen you all in the days ahead.
