John Melvin Dorey

PS Should read "re-discovered this site".

It was by accident that I discovered this site this morning. I appreciate so much the notes of sympathy and support. It's hard to believe Daddy has been gone two-and-a-half years, and Mother more than thirteen years. They were such good parents and grandparents. I know they are together now in a better place, and one day we will see them again.

I am sorry to hear about Mr. Dorey. He was always so kind and with a smile on his face. I will always remember he gave me two baby squirrels to raise when I was a kid. He was great company to my Mom in the nursing home.

Johnny and Dianne, I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. I can still see him sitting on the back seat at church. He is missed. We don't realize it but our parents are our backbone. We have had Christian parents all our lives and that is a blessing in itself. The Lord worked mightly through them and taught us. May God Bless You Both. Love and Prayers

Melvin,Evelyn and children all attended the First Assembly of God church in Fordyce during my father's pastorate in the 1950-60 years. My sister Tudy married Carlton Dorey and our families have been close over the years. Melvin now has joined the others who preceeded him and the heavenly family is growing day by day. Our prayers are with your family.

I know Melvin will be missed greatly. May God's comfort be with you all.

Dear Johnny, Dianne and family:

We were saddened by the news of Uncle Melvin's passing. We know that you will miss him terribly.

Not only was he my uncle, but he was my Dad's best friend. They shared a lot of years and memories. Now that more and more of our family is waiting on the other side ~ it won't be so hard to go when it is our time.

I can remember Uncle Melvin's hearty laugh and I remember how much he loved Aunt Evelyn. My children have memories of visiting him and playing cards with their Pa-paw.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

John is greatly missed. There is a void in my heart. I know I will see him again one day. I miss his smile. I miss his "Good morning boss lady." He always had something nice to say about anyone and everyone whom entered his room. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult loss.

I will miss Mr. Doreys' humor, hew was such a character, and the Nursing home will not be the same without him. He will be greatly missed. I will be praying your family.

You were given an earthly father to care for you and to nurture you while here on this earth, who is instructed to teach you of your Heavenly Father above... and now your dad has returned to Our Heavenly Father, and he will be rewarded for a service well-done, and enter into the Eternal Home, and one day we all will make that journey.. Your Heavenly Father will be watching over you and your family.. he will provide all you need even during time of sorrow.. Praise God that we will see each other again... May the Lord comfort your heart.. and give you the wisdom to know your Heavenly Father, as he is faithful and true, will keep his Promise...we shall be reunited with our family some day. I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Melvins death. All I can think of is no more pain or misery. He was always so fun to see when I worked for the pharmacy and delivered to the nursing home, he always called out to me from his roo. May your memories live forever in your hearts. Love you always,
