John "Jack" Duke passed away on March 15th, 2025. He was 86 years old.
He was born on November 24th, 1938, to John and Catherine Duke in New York City. He spent his early years in New York enjoying sailing and loved the ocean.
Jack married Ellen Gunther in 1968. They moved to Colorado in 1973. He lived in Longmont, Englewood, and Littleton. He spent many years as a salesman and finished his career as a "jack" of all trades in the maintenance department at King Soopers in Evergreen.
Jack enjoyed bowling, fishing, betting the horses and dogs, and enjoying a cold beer with friends. He loved spending time in Montauk with his sister and made it his summer home for numerous years.
Jack would give you the shirt off his back and would help anyone who needed it. He will be greatly missed.
Jack is survived by his daughters, Alison Duke, Susan Duke, Debbie Mills, and Lori Duke; their mother Ellen Duke; good friend, Pat O'Connor; his grandchildren, Jayla Cantu, Grace Duke, Noah Nelson, and Megan Mills; his sister, Kay Mercurio; his brother in-law, Charlie Gunther; and son in law, Steve Mills. He is also survived by nephews, Walter Rella, Bobby Gunther, Billy Klumpp and nieces, Christy Jennings and Cathy Matthews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Eleanor Klumpp; brother, George Duke; and brothers in law, Bill Klumpp and Angelo Mercurio.
Private Services will be held at a later date.
