John Edge Obituary

Born January 13, 1958, entered eternal rest on January 6, 2026 after a rapid decline in his health.  Eddie was a lifelong resident of Fernandina Beach, Florida, where he attended North 14th Street Baptist Church as a child and was a member of the Boy Scouts. A graduate of FBHS, Eddie worked for many years at Western Auto and later at the port of Fernandina Beach in the warehouse and as a boat operator. He loved to read and watch old Westerns, was an avid fisherman for a good part of his life and, in later years, a staple at the downtown pickleball and petanque  courts where he cheered on the players and made many friends. Eddie loved watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune with our mom.
Eddie was known as a quiet, kind-hearted man, who was mechanically inclined, a good cook, and eager to help others. Many will remember him as a good man who would do anything for you and would help you if he could.
Eddie is preceded in death by his father, John Edward Edge, Sr. and two younger brothers, Raymond Andrew Edge and William Eric Edge. He is survived by his mother, Shelba Jean Avery Edge, two younger sisters, Robin Edge Tiner (Brian), and Dana Edge, as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss him greatly.
To honor his wishes, no public services will be held.
