Mr. John P. ''Johnny'' Eithun, of Salem, died suddenly on Friday May 7, 2010, at his home after being stricken ill. He was the son of Margaret (Hildebrant) Eithun of Madison, Wisconsin, and the late Norris Joseph Eithun. Born and raised in Wisconsin he was a graduate of Madison East High School, and had lived in Salem for the past 35years. John was a well respected interior finish and woodworking specialist who had worked on the interior restoration of many historic homes in Salem and throughout the North Shore. He was a member of the Salem Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 218, and was involved in many of their charitable events, and a member of the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Legionnaires Minuteman 28. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son Matthew, of Vermont, a granddaughter Rozella Marie vanTubergen, 3 brothers Tom and his wife Julie, Robert Rocca and his wife Chris, and James Rocca, and his wife Alice, all of WI, 2 sisters Linda, of WI, and Gloria Moreland, of Lynn, his former wife and dear friend Elizabeth "Libby" Eithun, as well as his dear friend Ed McBrearty, both of Salem. He was predeceased by another dear friend Ted Kocur. A celebration of his life will be held at the Salem Moose Hall on Saturday May 15, 2010 at 11am. Arrangements are under the direction of the Solimine Landergan and Richardson Funeral Homes 426 Broadway (RTE129), Lynn. Donations may be made to Salem Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 218 Building Fund 50 Grove St. Salem, MA 01970.
