A much-loved son, brother, partner and uncle, John Andrew Erickson, 75, of Grants Pass, Oregon passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 4, 2026. He was born on August 28, 1950 in Stambaugh, Michigan.

He attended Bates elementary school and graduated from Iron River High school where he played percussion in the band and excelled academically. He attended Ferris State University and was active in campus activities and sang with the Ferris Wheels. He earned a degree in pharmacology and worked as a pharmacist for many years before starting his own pharmacy

in Pahoa, Hawaii which he ran for 10 years. After selling his business, he moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where he lived the remainder of his life with his partner, Joe Rea.

John enjoyed RVing with family and traveling with his dogs. He loved his many friends and family member, entertaining them often in his home. He was very charitable, helping others when needed. He also enjoyed singing and playing the piano.

John will be remembered for his sharp wit, intelligence, candid opinions, and lively conversations. His presence, humor and unmistakable voice will be forever missed.

He is survived by his partner, Joe Rea, his brother Paul W. Erickson of Glendale Arizona, sister Lynn Degroot and husband Ron Vague of Mesa, Arizona, sister Carole Erickson-Head and husband Lance Head of Mesa, Arizona, eleven nieces and nephews, 29 great nieces and nephews and 14 great-great nieces and nephews

John was proceeded in death by his father, Harry Arthur Erickson, his mother, Mildred V. Copeland Erickson and sister Garnet Louise Erickson Murrock.

A Celebration of Life in Grants Pass is being planned around Memorial Day weekend.
