John Reed Ernsberger, age 70, of Clarksville, passed away on July 7, 2024.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2024 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with full Military honors. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
John entered into this life on October 30, 1953 in Mansfield, OH to the late Donald Ernsberger and Leila Umfleet. John served in the U.S. Army for over twenty-one years to include Desert Storm and Desert Shield. Upon retirement he achieved the rank of CW3. He was known as a kind, sweet gentleman who exuded warmth and gentleness. His presence brought comfort to those around him, and his kind heart touched everyone he met. With his gentle demeanor and compassionate nature, he made the world a better, more loving place.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Leila Umfleet (Ray) Duncil; father, Donald Ernsberger; brother, David Ernsberger; sister, Beverly Ernsberger; son, Nicholas Ernsberger; father-in-law, Robert Henry.
Survivors include his loving wife of twenty-five years, Beverly Henry Ernsberger; sister, Ellen (Columbus) Woodruff; brother, Ray (Judith) Ernsberger; sons, Daniel and Tracy (Heather) Ernsberger, Cody and Travis White; daughter, Vanessa (Gregory) Hayes; grandchildren, Ava, Annabelle, John, Andrew (Terri) Ernsberger, Jake Cannon, Violet Hayes; great grandchildren, Dominic, Cassandra, and Wrenly; mother-in-law, Roberta Henry; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
