John William Evans, known affectionately as "Jack," was born on September 11, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois. He passed away on December 25, 2025, in Hudson, Florida, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, skill, and warmth.

Jack served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967 as a Flight Simulator Specialist. His military service instilled in him a sense of responsibility and commitment that he carried throughout his life. After his time in the Air Force, Jack embarked on a career as a contractor technical writer, traveling across the country to lend his expertise to various nuclear sites. His brilliant mind and exceptional problem-solving abilities earned him a reputation as a talented and respected professional.

He was known not just for his work but also for being a dedicated handyman; there was hardly a project that he couldn't tackle. His talents in construction, carpentry, plumbing, and automotive repair were matched only by his devotion to his family and friends. He was a loving and adoring husband to his wife Patricia, his constant companion and his whole world, with whom he did everything.  He was also a great father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, as well as an amazing friend to many.

In May of 2022, he made the choice to follow Christ, a decision that only brought him closer not only to his true self, but to his family and community as well. In addition to his passion for his family, Jack's zest for life was evident in his many interests, which included boating, water skiing, and dancing. He remained actively engaged in life, always finding joy in the activities he loved. He was also a skillful handyman, and readily offered his skills to those in need. His willingness to help others reflected the heart of a true community member.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Dean, and his cherished children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other extended family and friends who will carry forward his spirit and values. Jack's presence will be profoundly missed, yet the memories and lessons he imparted will resonate through the lives of those he touched.

Jack was preceded in death by both of his parents, as well as his younger brother Bob and older sister Sandy. As we remember him, we celebrate a life filled with service, love, and an unwavering commitment to making the world around him a better place.
