John L. Evers

Evers, John L., 77, of Clearwater, Florida passed away February 12, 2011 at home, after a long courageous battle with cancer, under Hospice care. He was born on December 16, 1933 in Bronx, NY and moved to this area in 1993 from NJ. He was a US Navy veteran and a retired member of the IBEW #3 in NY, as an electrical foreman with 38 years of service. He was also past president, of 10 years, for the Retired Electricians in Florida. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nancy; 2 daughters, Susan and Diane; 2 sons, John and Matthew; 5 grandchildren, Laura, Jonathan, Karl, Erik and Meghan; his brother, Joseph and his sister, Patricia. Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 16 at 11:00 A.M. at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family ask that contributions be made to the Suncoast Hospice Foundation or the Florida Cancer Specialist.
