"His heart was too big for this world."

It is with profound sadness and truly broken hearts that the family of John Henry Farrell III, age 39, of East Hartford, formerly of Bristol, shares the news of his unexpected passing on December 17th, 2025.

John Henry, the son of Wendy (Boulier) Farrell, was born in Waterbury and raised in Naugatuck. While gone way too soon, John Henry touched the lives of many during his 39 years, with his unwavering kindness and infectious sense of humor. A graduate of Naugatuck High School, John Henry pursued further education at the University of New Haven, ultimately finding his calling as a Sterile Products Pharmacy Technician at Hartford HealthCare. In this role, he dedicated himself to serving others, ensuring that those around him received not only the care they needed, but also the warmth of his compassionate spirit. John Henry will be remembered for his selflessness and generosity. A passionate volunteer, he worked with organizations such as Relay for Life, the Special Olympics, and Hartford Hospital's Medical Mission, embodying a heart that cared deeply about others. He shared a remarkable bond with his mother Wendy, who was a pivotal figure in his life.

John Henry found joy in knitting, enjoying exotic cuisines, spending time in nature, and sharing memorable moments with his cherished nephews. He loved going to Broadway plays and concerts, and was a devoted fan of Harry Potter and Taylor Swift, pursuits that brought him happiness and connection. In life, John Henry was a beacon of light, love, and levity, a true testament to the power of kindness and community. As we bid farewell, we find solace in the lives he touched, knowing that his life will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory, besides his mother Wendy, are his brother Joseph Farrell and his significant other, Angela Dill, of Torrington; his sister, Jennifer Scalise, and her husband Robert of Bristol; his nephews, Owen and Spencer, his goddaughter, Marilyn Tiul, and his beloved dog Marlee. John Henry was also looking forward to the arrival of his new niece or nephew. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family members, and many beloved friends

In tribute to John Henry's extraordinary spirit, relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate a life well-lived by paying their respects on Friday, December 26, 2025 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St Waterbury CT 06705.
