Just a comment on the obit. It was Charles Kuralt, not Dan Rather who came to St Louis.

I knew and met John in the late Eighties in the Soulard neighborhood. As I remember he always had a story to tell and a infectious smile while telling it. My condolences to his family and friends who I know will dearly miss hearing his next adventure in the colorful life he led. May you now rest and enjoy your next trip through the gates of a magical trip ahead of you. Joanne H.

May you rest in peace, John. Love Always, from your ex-wife Anton. About 1973 John and I divorced, but our close union has never ceased. He helped to raise my son, Haardt Moses, and each year, we had a little reunion. All these years, John and I have been best friends, sharing our lives together through thick and thin. John was a one-of-a-kind guy. No one can compare. He loved his family and all his friends and had the sweetest deepest soul of anyone that I have ever known.
I wish John were here right now. He is in spirit...strong and good.
A true friend is someone who shows you a side of your self you never knew you had until they came into your life ....A true friend who you love and who you know loves you is better than anything in the world!
