John Edmund "Jack" Fluta, 94, passed away on February 16, 2026, at Hackettstown Hospital.

Born on December 25, 1931, in Newark, New Jersey, Jack was the son of the late John Fluta and Mary (Sipus) Fluta. He grew up in Essex County and graduated from West Orange High School with the Class of 1949.

Jack proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1951 until 1957. Following his military service, he built a career working as a cameraman, a profession that reflected both his technical skill and keen eye for detail.

On October 1, 1955, Jack married the love of his life, Delores Kordanish. Together they shared many years of marriage until her passing. Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who took great pride in his family.

A man of faith, Jack was Catholic and lived his life guided by strong values of dedication, hard work, and love for those around him. In his free time, he greatly enjoyed woodworking and took pride in creating things with his hands.

Jack is survived by his sons, John W. Fluta and his wife Nancy G. and Paul M. Fluta and his wife Kathleen,; his cherished grandchildren, John J. Fluta, Cole J. Fluta, Matthew A. Fluta, Christopher M. Fluta,; great granddaughters Olivia R. Fluta, and Charlotte Fluta.

In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife, Delores Fluta.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
