John was always such a pleasure to be around. I was just a young kid but he recognized my presence as being consequential. He and his brother's band (Jim) used to practice in our basement. John would regular break drum sticks and was always grasping for another. I never noticed him missing a beat or being frustrated by it but one day he showed up with a practical solution. He inserted the ends of his wooden sticks into aluminum tubes. He proudly showed me his newly engineered sticks proclaiming that they would never break! And, they didn't. Half way through a Who number (I used to remember what song it was) he held up is sticks for a moment showing me that they were bent into a C shape and I could see that he was now struggling to spin them to straighten them and keep playing with a huge smile on his face! Nothing ever seemed to phase him or for that matter any of the Forcina's. What a pleasure it is to have this memory. It is one of those little things that makes you who you are. I look back on my yesterday and the good times that I had! I look forward for what tomorrow brings, a ray of happiness. "Yesterday" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwJUyQf_2lY
