In Loving Memory of John Edward Fowler August 11, 1945 – September 13, 2025
With profound sadness, the family of John Edward Fowler announces his peaceful passing on September 13, 2025, at the age of 80. He was surrounded by his devoted family in his hometown of Escondido, California, his most recent location during his 40 years in the San Diego area, aside from a four-year chapter in Reno, Nevada, where he and his wife Patty relocated for work.
Born in San Bernardino, California, on August 11, 1945, John spent his formative years there before journeying through Las Vegas and San Diego on his path to adulthood.
John dedicated his career to the plumbing and pipefitting industry, contributing to major commercial construction and retrofit projects across California and Washington State. Among his proudest achievements was his work on the refurbishment of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. He was a proud and active member of the United Association (UA) of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry, affiliated with Local 230 in San Diego and Local 26 in Bremerton.
From 1965 to 1971, John served his country in the Army National Guard.
Outside of work, John was a man of vibrant spirit and many passions. He had a gift for finding humor in everyday life, often lightening difficult moments with playful teasing and classic dad jokes. He treasured time with his family and found joy in fishing, golfing, and exploring the West Coast. Lake Tahoe held a special place in his heart, as did the occasional escape to Hawaii. Whenever possible, he'd be found riding a Harley, embracing the freedom of the open road.
John was a man who cherished life's simple pleasures and built deep, lasting relationships. He was a steadfast friend, a generous helper, and a devoted Christian. As the provider and protector of his family, he led with quiet strength, always ready to offer support in times of need. His unwavering love and loyalty were the foundation of his home.
A faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, John observed the Sabbath with reverence and found joy in communion with God. He was a passionate prayer warrior, often praying for the Holy Spirit to surround his loved ones with "safety bubbles"-a phrase that became a tender symbol of his care.
John is lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years (three months shy of their 60th anniversary), Patricia; his children, Tamara (with husband Mitch) and granddaughter Teryn, and Kristine and grandson Caellan; his siblings, Les (with wife Tami) and Debi (with husband Steve); and a wide circle of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who enriched his life.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ann Randles, and his stepfather, Albert Fowler.
In accordance with John's wishes, no memorial service will be held. For those moved to honor his memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a
charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
