John F. Fritts age 76 of Dixon died unexpectedly Monday June 20, 2022 from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born Oct 16, 1945 in Dixon the son of John T. and Frances E. (Prindaville) Fritts. John was a long time farmer, Lee County Board Member, Republican Precinct Committeeman and served as Lee County Treasurer for 24 years. John was a member of the Palmyra Hillbillies 4H club before becoming its leader for 35 years. He was a member of the Lee County Farm Bureau, St Anne Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Dixon Kiwanis Club, Illinois County Treasurer's Association, and the Lee County Council on Aging. John was a long time IHSA sports official in four sports, basketball, baseball, softball, and soccer.
John married Rolinda J. Stachelski on April 12, 1969 in Joliet, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
John is survived by his wife Rolinda, children John T. (Tessa) Fritts of Winona, MN, Mark Fritts of Chicago, and three grandchildren Kendra, John and Logan Fritts. He is also survived by his brother David Fritts and sister Jane (Bob) Chambers both of Dixon.
Visitation will be on Friday June 24th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at St Anne Catholic Church in Dixon, IL. Rosary at 3:30 PM. Mass will be held Saturday, 10:30 AM, at St Anne Catholic Church, followed by Burial at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials have been established.

Our condolences to all in the extended Fritts family. John and David were important mentor figures in St. Anne's when I was growing up in Dixon. I remember John's easy manner, good humor, and kindness. His life of service and stewardship of the land and people of Illinois
merits praise and honor. May his memory be a blessing to all.

Very sorry to hear. Mr. Fritts was a wonderful man. He was a referee to our home games when I was in school. And he followed us when away, very supportive to young athletes. Great man, My condolences to his family.
