John Gibson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Faith Funeral Service, LLC on Jan. 7, 2026.
John Wesley Gibson III, 52, a lifelong resident of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away January 4, 2026 at St. Bernards Medical Center. Born on April 7, 1973 to Johnny and Judy Gibson. In 1993 he met his wife, Holly, and they married two years later in September 1995. They recently celebrated their 30th anniversary.

John was known for his hard work and his work ethic. He started as a delivery driver for Domino's Pizza and worked his way up to owner. He later parted ways with Dominos and began his dream job at Southland Casino. His work ethic led him to quickly move up to Table Games Supervisor.

John loved his family, he lived for spending time with his kids and grandkids. Every child that entered his home became another one of his "kids."

To cherish his memory John leaves his wife: Holly; together they welcomed Jonathan "Hoonie" (Jessica) Gibson, Matthew "Peanut" (Cailee) Gibson, Sierra "Baby Girl" Brown, and Bethany "Daddy's Girl" Gibson; his mother: Judy Gibson; Grandma: Annie Hughes; his little sister: Tammy (Brian) Belcher; his brother's by another mother: Patrick (Shea) Drummond and Robert Berry; He also leaves behind two grandchildren: Evelynn Gibson and Jude Gibson; his nephews: Jordan Walker and Brentley Walker; and a host of other family and friends.

Waiting to welcome him home is his dad: John Wesley Gibson, Jr.; grandma: Ruby Gibson; Grandpa: John E. Hughes, Jr. and one niece Miranda Drummond.

As a lifelong Steelers and wrestling fan, we want to honor his memory and celebrate his life doing what he loved most. Spending time with family and friends telling stories and laughing.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church (2731 Paula Drive - Jonesboro, Arkansas)

In true John fashion please wear black and gold, Pittsburg Steelers (YEAH BABY!!!) , or WWE attire. If you have a John story you are invited to share. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Judes or NEAHS.
