I remember attending church together in San Antonia, Texas. I believe that was Hebrew COGIC. If my memory serves me right the Pastor was Elder Duhart. This was our church away from home as we went through basic training in the Army. I recall many weekends where John and I along with other men from the base spent time in the Ushers. Mr and Mrs Usher extended hospitality to several of us guys from the base. They were the parents of Curly Gilmore, his widow.
In 1966 when I got married, he was my Best Man. Subsequent to that I would see him almost every year when he came to the Holy Convocation in Memphis.
Down through the years we would have telephone convocations. I will miss him
