John Givens Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 14, 2025.
The world lost a vibrant spirit on September 26, 2025, with the unexpected passing of John T Givens, age 45. Born on January 21, 1980, John lived life with a spark that few could match-full of energy, humor, and an unmistakable passion for the people and things he loved.

John had a way of lighting up any room he entered. Whether it was with his infectious smile, his quick wit, or his ability to make everyone feel like family, he left an impression that will not be forgotten. He was deeply devoted to his favorite sports teams-cheering on the Washington Redskins, Baltimore Orioles, Florida Gators, and North Carolina Tar Heels every chance he got. And no one could question his loyalty to WWE wrestling, which he followed faithfully.

When he wasn't watching a game, John could be found doing what he loved most: working on his cars, trucks, and motorcycle, or spending time by the water. Whether it was a pool, lake, river, or the ocean, if it involved sun, family, and good times, John was there. He lived every day to the fullest, creating memories that will live on through those who knew and loved him.

John was preceded in death by his beloved brothers, Christopher Givens and David Givens Jr., as well as dear family members Phyllis Givens Conway, Raymond Givens, Jackie and Mac Ignacio, and Vaughn McCabe-all of whom held special places in his heart.

He leaves behind his loving family: siblings Elizabeth (Noel) Givens-Payne, Julie Locklear, Jamie (Michelle) Locklear, and Jeremy (Lisa) Locklear. His nieces and nephews: Kelsie Givens, Bobby Locklear, Bryce Payne, Bryan Miller, Jordan Givens, Caleb Locklear, JJ Payne, Emma Locklear, Nikolas Payne, Ella Locklear, Hunter Givens, Ashton Givens, Braelyn Givens, James Locklear, Carter Locklear, Kinley Locklear, Olin Locklear, Kenley Givens, Ryelan Locklear and one great nephew Maverick David Givens. His parents: Mom - Donna McCabe, Father - David (Dee) Givens and last but certainly not least, his lasting legacy his children Christian Farrow-Givens and Kierstien Givens.

John's love for life, his loyalty to family, and his unmatched spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. Though his time with us was far too short, his legacy of love and laughter will live on. In honoring John's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.

Instead, you are invited to remember him in your own way-whether it's watching a game, spending time by the water, working on a car, or simply sharing a laugh with those you love.
