John Gogin Obituary
John Michael Gogin, age 84 of Brookfield passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023. John was born on April 9, 1938 in Milwaukee, the son of Richard and Frieda (Kane) Gogin. He married Clare Ellen "Kea" McGarry Gogin on January 8, 1966. He is survived by his wife, his daughter Margaret "Peggy" Gogin Sullivan and sons Patrick Sean (Debbie) and Daniel John (Meg) and 6 grandchildren, Ryan Sullivan, Nora Gogin, Max Gogin, Isabelle Casper, Melissa Casper and Christopher Smart.
John graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in 1956 and Michigan Tech University-Forestry in 1963. He worked for Moore Business Forms, Data Management and Gogin Graphics, which he owned. He was very active in sports from a young age including football, baseball, tennis, hockey and lots of golf and hunting and fishing.
John grew up with 13 siblings in his family and he was very proud of his Irish heritage. Survived by Tom (Marge) Gogin, Kathy Gogin Schrader, Karen Gogin (Bob) Rosecky, Sheila Gogin Schneider and Margaret "Margie" Gogin Castner.
Visitation will be held Thursday March 2 at St. Anthony on the Lake Parish, W280 N2101 Prospect Ave, Pewaukee from 11 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 1 PM. Luncheon to follow. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery, 5503 W. Bluemound Rd, Milwaukee on Friday, March 3 at 10:30 AM.

To the Gogins, my sincere sympathy to the family. There were many Gogins when I came to Memorial in the fall of 1956. John was a senior on the football team, and I a new assistant foot coach. These was little reason for extending acceptance to me. But, he did. As did his twin sisters. I would like to offer my condolences in person, but illness in my family prevents it. May God grant peace to one of my favorite Irish families and answer some of their final glorious prayers . Warren and Sharon Braun

John was one of the first men I met when I joined the Knights of Columbus. He was welcoming, kind, and generous, with a wonderful enthusiasm for an active life filled with friendships, great stories and laughter. He was a mentor and golf partner, always prioritizing love for family, faith and service. We share our appreciation for the ways that John touched our life, and we send our sympathies to John´s family.
