(Sonny) John C. Goldizen Jr passed away at his home on the morning of 12/31/25.
He was valued member of his community as he was a former business owner of Kelley's Trim Shop and the only Kenton County Marshal to have served in the state of Kentucky in the 60's. He observed Catholic religion. He wasn't a religious man but he was right with god. He raised his children to observe god in the Baptist Church.
He was one of 12 Children to father John C Goldizen Sr and mother Mary Goldizen of St Joseph, Missouri. He is proceeded in death by 4 brothers and 6 sisters.
He also proceeded in death by ex wife Patricia A Goldizen.
He is survived by his youngest brother (Shorty) David Goldizen and his longtime girlfriend Patricia Rodgers.
He was also has 5 sons (Jay) John C Goldizen III spouse Margret Goldizen of Kansas, Scott A Goldizen spouse Cindy Goldizen of FtWright Ky Timmy L Goldizen spouse Stacy Goldizen of Erlanger, Ky, Alvin Keith Goldizen spouse Linda Goldizen of Richwood,Ky Larry A Goldizen of Florence, Ky and 1 daughter Tina Goldizen of Ft Worth, Tx. He had 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He loved building high performance cars and passed all that knowledge onto his children. All of his boys are all in the automotive field as that's how they were raised. He cherished his treasured bright yellow and white pearl 1955 Chevrolet. Anyone that he ever met was a friend to him. He had no enemies in this world and was loved by everyone who knew him. He will be missed by all his family and friends.

John's favorite hobbies: He loved working on cars, building hot rods and doing auto body work. He was an avid drag racer when he was younger
John's favorite foods: He loved Spam, fried potatoes and jalapeño peppers
Favorite bands and musical artists: He loved to listen to Elivis Presley and old Country Music
Interesting facts about John: He was an amazing auto mechanic. He was a professional custom exhaust pipe bender. He used to custom bend exhaust systems for cars and even made it into the newspapers many years ago for his work. He once custom bent the exhaust system on the original Batmobile for custom car builder George Barris. He was also a very talented auto body man. He had painted many cars over that were show winners @ Cavalcade of Customs He was the one and only Kenton County Marshal ever in the state of Ky He was a record time holder @ Thornhill Dragstrip until 1994
John loved nothing more than: Talk to people. He was a people person. He could meet a complete stranger and talk to them for hours. He loved to work on his 1955 Chevy. He loved his pets and his dog Duke
Favorite place in the world: He loved to go home to St Joseph, Missouri and see family.

Favorite sports: He loved NASCAR and Drag Racing
John's superpower: He could carry on a complete conversation with someone with his cigar in his mouth and mumble the whole time. Somehow you knew what he was saying and meant.
Visitation and Celebration of Life will be Thursday Jan 15 from 5pm to 7pm at Don Catchen Family Funeral Home 3525 Dixie Highway, Elsmere, KY 41018
