John R. Gordon, Sr., age 66, of Montague, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at his home. He was born July 30, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio to Robert and Myrtle (Gilkerson) Gordon. John was raised in Trotwood, Ohio. He moved to Union, Ohio upon his marriage to Dorothy Taylor on October 11, 1969. They moved to Michigan in 1989. In Michigan, John worked at Damma Tool in Grand Haven, later for CMI-Dearborn in Montague and retired from GM-Burlingame in Wyoming, MI. He loved hunting, fishing and drawing. John was a member of Fox Lake Gun Club. He made lots of memories with the Tagliches Manna Skating Group in Ravenna. John is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sons, John (Amy) Gordon, Jr., Robert Gordon and Tim Gordon (and fiancé, Alyssa Dixon); grandchildren, Travis, Courtney, Dylan, Gina and Megan Gordon; and his brother, David (Annette) Gordon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Myrtle Gordon. John would want you to give hugs to those you love and extend gifts to help your fellow man. No services will be held.
