Half of a century after our paths first crossed, this septuagenarian has now sensed
that the magnitude of this man´s impact is not easily condensed.
His voice was not all that melodious, but measured, congenial & pleasant:
filled with words that were carefully chosen, well intentioned & quite relevant.
His gait was spry and confident,
receptive to only the slightest re-direction;
although inexorably advancing
in steady, forwardly direction.
He often allotted time for play once the day´s work had been satisfied
provided that the best effort by his charges had been dutifully applied.
His passing: an irreplaceable loss for those he left behind. ..
His legacy: be learned, be tenacious, better yourself and be kind.

Mary Lou and all of the Goudy family, Please accept my deep condolences as you mourn John's passing. I didn't know John, but as a fellow Seton Hall graduate, we had that and more in common.
