Of Williamsville, at age 82, beloved husband of Edith E. Malizia; loving son of the late John L. and Esther B. (nee Zorn) Grandits; devoted father of Dawn M. (Steve) Hoggard, of Norman, OK; dear brother of Susan Bruder of Dunwoody, GA, the late Carol Martin of Buffalo, Donald Grandits of Colden, NY, Irene Grandits of Buffalo; also survived by nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 8, from 4-8 PM at the (Amherst Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5200 Sheridan Drive (at Hopkins Rd). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM on Saturday, November 9, at St. Joseph University Parish, 3269 Main St., Buffalo. Please assemble at church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. If desired, donations in John's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Share condolences at www.AMIGONE.com.

I have fond memories of John from the days he worked as a Rehabilitations Counselor at NFVRC and later when he worked as a Rehabilitation Psychologist at the VA. There were not many of us working in vocational rehabilitation in those days and we all knew each other. He was a very kind helpful person and he will be missed.

Dear Edith and family, sorry to hear of the passing of John. I met John through my position at the Univrtsity of Buffalo, as well as Edith. A wonderful person and scholar. Rest well with the Lord John.

I´m very sorry to see if John´s passing. I first met him as a customer at the bank where I was employed and more recently at the Y. My sincere sympathy to the family. John was always a gentleman.
