John Odesis Granger, born on March 5, 1958, in Liverpool, England, passed away on November 29, 2025. He was a dedicated electrician and a proud veteran who served four years in the United States Navy, achieving the rank of E5 Second Class Petty Officer. John was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and son who touched the lives of those around him with his wisdom and affection.
John was the oldest of seven children and was a pillar of strength and support for his family throughout his life. He will be remembered fondly by his mother, Margret Joan Clague Granger of Mamou, as well as his daughters, Crystal Dawn Granger Ardoin with her husband, Jody of Chicot and Tisha Lyn Granger with her husband, Robert, of Vidrine. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: David and Lydia Ardoin of Chicot and Tatum Bertrand of Vidrine.
He is also survived by his brothers: Jeffrey Granger and wife Lynn of Mamou, Joseph Granger and wife Penny of Reddell, Phillip Granger of Jennings, and Eugene Granger and wife Ny'Jer of Texas, along with his sisters, Michelle Davis and husband Levi of Eunice, and Charlotte Gracedel and husband Dan of Texas. John also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss his genuine spirit.
John's love for his grandchildren was one of his greatest joys, and he was often found sharing stories filled with wisdom and humor. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him, as he embodied kindness and the importance of family. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Felicia Jane Granger, and his father, George Roland Granger.
As we remember John Odesis Granger, let us honor his life of service, love, and dedication to his family. His presence will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to guide those he left behind.
