Mr. John Russell Griffith

HICKORY – John Russell Griffith, 87 of Hickory passed away on February 20, 2010 at Brian Center. Born April 18, 1922 in Norristown, PA he was a son of the late William H. and Helen Waton Griffith. Mr. Griffith served in the U. S. Navy. He was a member of Masons Masonic Lodge #620 of Norristown, PA and a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. View. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ewing Griffith; brothers, William Herbert Griffith and Walter Griffith. Survivors include son, Gary Griffith of Hickory; grandchildren, Megan Trivett and husband, Michael of Hudson, Lee Griffith and wife, Michelle of Hudson and Joshua Griffith and wife, Holly of Hudson; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Cole Trivett, Austin and Justin Griffith and Tristan and Owen Griffith; and brother, Harry Griffith of Surprise, Arizona. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 25th at 2 p.m. at Catawba Memorial Park with Pastor John Woodard officiating.
