WATERBURY – Mr. John L. Guzoski, age 88, of Waterbury passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of his family on Saturday November 2, 2024. He was the husband of the late Barbara Guzoski.

John, who was known to all as Jack, was born on April 16, 1936, in Waterbury, Connecticut. He was the son of the late Julius J. and Mary (Nalewajek) Guzoski. In his younger years, Jack started his career working for Alcort for a few years until he opened his own business, Reliable Appliance. He was the sole owner and an appliance repair man for over 40 years serving not only local companies but also the community of Waterbury. Even though he had semi-retired in the mid 2000’s, he continued to take care of his devoted clients as well as their families. Jack was loved by all. His laugh was infectious, his goofiness was hilarious, and he always had a way of making sure everyone around him had a smile on their face. In his younger years he enjoyed going on camping adventures with his wife and children and he also enjoyed square dancing on the weekends with friends. His home away from home in Ocean City, Maryland was where he loved to be the most. Activities including crabbing, clamming, and fishing were his passion and he especially loved to teach those who had never gone before. His favorite local spots including Harborside, Caribbean Pool Bar, and Fish Tails was where he enjoyed happy hour specials, rum runners and seafood dinners. He showed his great grandchildren his love for the beach by teaching them how to boogie board and build sandcastles. Jack was always laughing and having a great time no matter who he was with or where he was. He will truly be missed by all that were blessed to know him. Jack missed his wife Barbara dearly since her passing a little over one year ago. They are both together again in the loving arms of the Lord and may they both rest in eternal peace.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Terri Lynn and husband, Michael Costin of Thomaston, CT and his son, Gary and wife Maria Guzoski of Brownsville, TX. Jack was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren: Kristina Potsko and husband Jared, Kara Coutu and husband Jonathan, Jessica Wilhite and husband Mikah, and Garret Guzoski and fiancé Kelly Linstrom. He was also blessed with 6 beautiful great grandchildren: Abigail, Carter, Jackson, Cole, Emma, and Natalie, Jack leaves nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara Mete.

The Guzoski family would like to thank Julie, and Tammy from Trinity at Home Hospice along with Brenda and Sandra from Good Care Home Care for all the wonderful care and compassion they provided to Mr. Guzoski and his family.
