When people see jersey #21 they think of Ladanian Tomlinson but I always say John Hadl my favorite San Diego Charger Quarterback who I grew up watching as a fan in San Diego during the 60’s.

First quarterback I ever watched was back in 1964 in San Diego. I was eight years old.
We all know what a Great Quarterback he was. He was an inspiration to me in my football career.
My condolences to his family, teammates, and all whom he touched in his lifetime.

How well we remember John.... especially since we share the same last name... and we are not related! Our Hadl name originated in Austria. John was a great football player, and may he now forever rest in peace....

Great quarterback and athlete, with excellent passing skills. Hadl to Alworth: one of the greatest passing combinations in the history of the game. And Hadl to Harold Jackson was fantastic, too! What a run John had in San Diego, especially in the AFL era. And during his relatively short stint with the Rams, John led a memorable "turnaround" phase for that team.

Thanks for the memories, John. Like many, I was a fan. It was a joy to watch you play.
