JOHN W. "JACK" HARVEY
John W. "Jack" Harvey, age 65, of Boyceville, WI died Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie.
He was born July 31, 1941 in the Town of Sherman, Dunn Co., WI to William and Elizabeth (Lerch) Harvey. He graduated from Boyceville High School in 1959.
Jack worked for Century Fence for several years. He met O'della May Ganje, while working in North Dakota and they were married on January 19, 1963 in Minot, ND. They moved to Wisconsin and lived with Caroyl and Uncle Bobby Harvey before moving into Boyceville where they lived for 41 years. Jack worked as a technician for Tri-State Breeders and drove truck for Rhead Candy Company. After purchasing his own truck, he went into business for himself, delivering for Snow Flake Foods. Jack and his son also started Harvey Cheese Sales in the early 1980's.
Jack was a volunteer firefighter and EMT and held offices in both the Boyceville Ambulance and Fire Dept. Jack also served on the Boyceville Village Board in the late 1970's.
After retiring for health reasons, Jack did odd jobs, working at various parks including Myron Park for 13 years. He also worked part time for Downing Tractor.
Jack enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping, fixing lawn mowers, reading, doing puzzles and watching his grandchildren play in sports. In his younger years, he enjoyed drag racing. He was an avid sports fan and a great fan of the Green Bay Packers. Jack loved his family. They meant everything to him and he will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Steven, a granddaughter Vanessa Harvey, a nephew Ronald Rogers and a brother-in-law Alan Sorenson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 19, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Boyceville, with Pastor Tim Matthaei officiating. Burial will be in Tiffany Cemetery in Boyceville, at a later date. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
