John E. Hass, age 74, of New London, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025. He was born on January 9, 1951, to Alfred and Adeline (Walbruck) Hass. On September 25, 1971, he married the love of his life, Judy Arndt, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. They shared 34 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2005. John worked for the City of New London as the Parks Superintendent for many years until his retirement.

John will be remembered as someone who lived life to the fullest. He loved the outdoors-especially hunting and fishing with his family. He also enjoyed trips to the casino and playing cards, always with an ice-cold Seagram's & Sour in hand and "Big Blue" within arm's reach. Above all, he cherished watching his grandchildren grow, cheering them on in their sports activities, and seeing them start families of their own.

John was known for his laughter, quick wit, and love of jokes. He had a special gift for brightening a room and bringing people together, leaving behind countless memories that will continue to bring smiles for years to come.

John is survived by his son, John W. (Heather) Hass; his longtime special friend, Shirley Burnett, and her family; his beloved grandchildren, Trevor (Mollie) Hass and Hailey (David) Sell; and his great-grandchildren, MacCoy and Myles Hass, with two more on the way. Each of them carries forward his legacy of love, humor, and appreciation for life's simple joys. He is further survived by his brothers-in-law, Roger (Lois) Kitzman and Robert (Patricia) Arndt, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; his parents, Alfred and Adeline Hass; his in-laws, Skip and Angeline Arndt; his sisters, Angeline Kitzman and Loraine (Robert) Fritz; his sister-in-law, Diane (Lester) Brighum; his three infant brothers; and his nieces, Shelly Johnson and Alicia Dorn.

John's presence, spunk, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, along with a private burial at Little Wolf Cemetery.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Shirley for caring for him in his final months, as well as to the staff at ThedaCare Medical Center for their support and compassion.
